Affordable Swimming Destinations in Sorsogon City

A travel blog located in Sorsogon City, Philippines.

First and foremost, let me introduce you the Sorsogon City.

Sorsogon province is located in the Philippines' Bicol Region and is the southernmost province on the island of Luzon.  Sorsogon, as a tourist attraction, is less well-known than other tourist destinations and provinces in adjacent Luzon. 

People who visit there, on the other hand, are blown away by its beautiful attractions, natural scenery, and placed ambiance. Sorsogon is around 60 kilometers from Legazpi City in Albay, which is location to the legendary Mount Mayon and other Legazpi tourist attractions. 

A Sorsogon map will reveal that the province is primarily surrounded by water. Because of its geographical location, Sorsogon is gifted with several beaches, coves, and lagoons. There are also magnificent islands near the coast of the province.

Many of us do not waste their time under the sun because first of all they don't want their skin to get dark. Second, they don't want to get sweat and had a body odor. Lastly, they get easily irritated because of the heat. But for me, neither of that is important when I had a chance to get in Sorsogon. 

As a person who loves to wandering around, Sorsogon is one of my favorite place so far. Why? because my experience there could not compare to any places I've been. 

From the beauty of Mayon volcano, mountains, rice fields, trees, beach, lagoons and peaceful air. 

The smile on people's face I am with is my favorite.

They are the ones that allowed me to experience what it's like to become a province girl. 

They escorted me around Sorsogon, and I discovered that there are several affordable swimming spots nearby.

 First is Masacrot Spring Resort, it is one of the affordable swimming destinations located at Bulusan, Sorsogon. I ask some individuals why they like to swim here, and they tell me that "apart from the cold water, I like how deep the water is." Masacrot is six feet deep, therefore if you don't know how to swim, you must rent some floaters for 100php only. Their current entrance fee is 60php for adults and 50php for children. They used to accept night swimming, but not anymore.

They also have cottage that cost ₱250php, but if you are more than 50 people, your cottage is free. It has a pool for children and adult. It also have griller for those who want to grill some foods and they have a lot of comfort room and wash room. Also, the globe network here is not working but the smart network is working. It is better because we can focus on enjoying each other's company rather than updating our social media.

Next one is Orok Cold Spring in Casiguran, Sorsogon, one of the most affordable swimming destinations.

This cold spring is a famous tourist site in Sorsogon during the summer since the water is exceptionally cold to fight the heat of the sun. This is a great place to relax in the sun because it has a lot of trees and the water is cold. It is also not required for you to rent a cottage unless you have a large number of belongings. They are also not strict when it comes to food and alcoholic beverages. Parking is free, and there is a store on the venue where you may purchase food and beverages. You may enjoy it all for only 40 pesos at the entrance.

Yes! You read that right! Entrance fee of 40 pesos? How cheap, right? The primary consequence of all of this is that you should not litter in the swimming area. The staff here is very kind. They let you borrow some stuff, but you must return them when you are done. It also has a karaoke machine that you can use with your family. Overall, this is one of the best places I've been. If I get a chance to come back here, I will.

Finally, if you want a white beach, go to Rizal Beach Resort. If you are with the residents, your entrance is free, but if you are not, your entrance is for only 10php. Isn't that good?

As I mentioned above, Sorsogon is surrounded by water that is why there is a lot of beach here and that becomes a reason to have a lower priced entrance fee. The good thing is that they are not strict when it comes to cottages; it is your choice whether to rent and they offer 300 php or if you want to save money, you can stay in the sand and just don't litter anywhere. You can stay here at any time, but be cautious of the deep area because there is no lifeguard, although the people here are great swimmers and can assist you if you get drowned.

Overall, Sorsogon City is a great place to visit. It has a Instagramble, breath taking and peaceful view. If you are tired of the hustle, traffic, pollution, and stress of life in Manila, try relaxing in Sorsogon City because life is short and you deserve a vacation in reward for your hard work.
